The Mountain Room, Sunday River’s newest on-mountain eatery and watering hole in the mid-mountain Peak Lodge, is set to open after Christmas. We pestered restaurateur Chef Harding Lee Smith of The Rooms in Portland, Maine, to give us a taste test of the menu, which features everything from pork belly buns to beautiful charcuterie boards.
The Mountain Room is the fifth restaurant in Smith’s collection and is set to roll out in two phases. The first phase includes a full bar (with a delicious rotating cocktail, beer, and wine menu) plus small plates, cheese boards, and appetizers.
The second phase of The Mountain Room will expand the space into a full-fledged restaurant, serving a selection of Chef’s signature dishes. This year, you can enjoy fine foods and beverages from The Mountain Room any time that the Peak Lodge is open for business.
